Repainted Furniture

Before we even moved into our new apartment. We bought this ugly, ugly dining room set. Although it was so hideous, I saw potential. A few days ago, the weather was SUPER nice. and I had two days off in a row. SO! I went to work.
Above were the before pictures. I removed the cushions & the nasty blue fabric from them. Who knew reupholstering was so easy? Basically I cut squares a bit larger than the cushions & staple-gunned them to the cushion board. So easy.

To repaint the furniture I: 1)used coarse sand paper to sand both table & the chairs. 2)wiped them clean. 3)one layer of primer. 4)medium sandpaper sanding 5)one layer of paint. 6) light sanding. 7)second layer of paint.
This project turned out a lot easier than I had originally thought. The hardest part of the whole thing was picking the pain & the fabric. I changed my mind so many times but always kept coming back to my original idea. The chairs turned out brighter & pinker than planned. But I love the overall look of the set.

The second hardest part was painting during the hottest part of the day. The paint dried so fast! We were in deep doo-doo if where was a blob of paint left for more than two seconds because that blob would not flatten out. Luckily we did the last layer after the sun was down and the heat subsided.
What do you think of how the set turned out? Have you ever repainted furniture? Any tips for my future projects?
