First Month

So, the day of our first monthiversary came and went and it was a delightful day and an even more delightful month! We are so happy to be married to each other! During the month since our wedding, we did not have much to do, so we had an extended honeymoon. We got back from Montana just in time for celebrating Christmas at both of our families' houses. What a treat it was to celebrate the holidays so soon as a married couple!
After Christmas, we headed back to Orange City to enjoy some peace and quiet before classes started. Our good friends let us crash in their apartment while they were on break before we were able to move into our apartment. And as luck would have it, we were allowed to move into our first apartment earlier than expected! We spent a few days putting everything in their places including both new kitchen supplies from our wedding presents AND vintage ones from my mother's own collection of treasures. I had more fun than did Kameron putting our place together. He liked to take extended breaks watching movies on the couch while I was buzzing around like a bee - typical. =) We spent the rest of Christmas break watching movies, getting into the TV series Lost, baking bread, making ice cream, and playing the many board games we received as wedding gifts.
Classes have started. (2 down, only 14 to go!). It has been good to have other things to do and other friends to keep us entertained, but I know that soon we will be very busy. I have quite a semester of nursing clinicals coming up, and Kam commutes to Dordt College -15 minutes away- for a documentary class. We will be lucky if we get to spend much time together, but I'm sure we'll manage. Kam also writes movie reviews for the school newspaper, so we get to go to the movie theater weekly to watch the latest flick for free! This week's selection: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. If you're lucky, we will post his review.
We received a belated, but exciting wedding gift this past week - an Apple TV. It is a little box that connects to the TV that allows you to stream Netflix, music from iTunes, videos from Youtube, and other media capabilities. It seems to be pretty cool. But the setup has been pretty difficult for us. Hopefully we can get it figured out. ---but maybe it is better if it doesn't work yet - that way we can get more homework done! If you have any tips, let us know!
Well, that seems like an adequate amount of information for this post - a lot more than any others we have shared. Feel free to ask us questions and give us marriage advice/stories/jokes. We are glad you are interested in our lives, as we are interested in yours.
