Crochet How To: Make a Slip Knot

The slip knot is the first step when beginning a crochet project. It is a pretty easy step if you know how to make a slip knot. Below I have instructions using pictures and then a short video for extra help.
Start by holding the end of the yarn between your thumb & middle finger.
Wrap working end of yarn around pointer finger.
Bring the working end back around the pointer finger again.
(Now you have you strands in front and 2 in the back)
Bring the working end (labeled #1) around the back and through the strand labeled #2)
Let go with your left hand, and pull the knot tight.

Below is a video that may help those who learn better by listening & watching.
If you have any questions, just ask in the comments below, and I will do my best to answer them.

Stay tuned to learn how to do the chain stitch to begin your crochet project.
