Jockey Hollow

Near the end of our stay with Great-Aunt Enid in New Jersey, we visited Jockey Hollow, an encampment used by the Continental Army during the revolutionary war. Soldiers endured one of the hardest winters on record, surviving on little food in drafty shacks.

A couples miles from Jockey Hollow, ol' General George Washington hunkered down Ford Mansion, which has been conserved for tours.
