50 Recipes: Green Smoothie

4/50

This year I am trying this new thing where I eat more fruits & veggies, and I eat breakfast, and try to be healthy. (You may have read about it in my new years resolutions & goals posts.) One thing that I really have enjoyed as part of this is making almost-daily smoothies.

Making smoothies is a great way to include fruits, veggies, & breakfast into your diet. It wasn't until this year that I started to introduce veggies into my smoothies. After reading this post from my favorite blog, I started to see smoothies in a whole new light. Now I include: spinach, avocados, apples, honey &/or dry oats into my smoothies. What a difference! As a result, I am eating more fiber & feel myself getting fuller!

Here is a recipe for one of my go-to smoothies in the mornings:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup peach slices
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 handfuls of fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup dry oats
  • 1/3 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
Steps:
  • combine everything into a blender
  • blend
  • &enjoy!

What do you include in your smoothies?
