Craft Time: Advent Calendar 2012

I know, i know, i know. It is December 4th - a little late to be posting about an advent calendar. True. And I did not even make it until the 2nd of the month. There has been a lot going on at home & at work, hence the lateness in completing this project. Originally I wanted to do something like THIS advent calendar. But I could not find match boxes anywhere. I think it had something to do with a hurricane or something. So, I had to come up with something different on a short notice. This one was pretty easy. I found the printable HERE from Hey Look on Pinterest, printed the pages on construction paper, folded & tabled the boxes, and filled them with candy and fun activities to do as we celebrate this Christmas season.
Activity Ideas
  • Watch Elf
  • Sing a Christmas carol to our housemates
  • Drink peppermint hot chocolate
  • Window-shop on 5th Ave in NYC
  • look at Christmas lights
So far we have really enjoyed celebrating this way. Looking for an idea to do next year. Maybe a calendar that is a little sturdier so we can reuse it.

What are you doing to celebrate as the holidays draw near? Leave a comment below.

  2. Where is this supposed "Christmas Carol" to the house? I have yet to hear the angelic voice of a Toews.
